This poem is an etheree.  When writing an etheree, you start with one syllable on the first line and work up to 10 syllables on the tenth line.  You can either stop there, or work your way back down to one.

Wind
bitter
biting cold
ice, sleet and snow
everything is white
looking out my window
I see ice-coated branches
sparkling brightly in the sunlight
I put on my coat and hat and gloves
to play outside in the beautiful snow
I roll snowballs and build a snowman
My hands and feet and nose are cold
It’s time to go back inside
get away from the cold
drink some hot cocoa
stay out of the
ice and snow
Winter
Brrr!
